VP Finish’s Tin Plating is widely used to impart a ductile and corrosion resistant finish while also increasing solderability and conductivity of the substrate. It is also an excellent choice when resistance to harsh acid/base chemicals is desired. Our Tin Plating is an electrolytic process that deposits a single layer of lead free tin over an underlayment of Copper Plating on many metal substrates.

Types
Both our Tin Plating processes are lead free, low organic occlusion coatings that are both solderable and corrosion resistant over a wide range of conditions. Our Bright Tin Plating provides a deposit that is a brilliant whitish silver while our Matte Tin provides a brightener free white matte finish.
Substrates
The following are just some of the machined part substrates we can successfully deposit Tin Plating on:
- Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminum
- Brass and Copper Alloys
- Beryllium Copper
- Cast Iron
- Tungsten
Grades
- Commercial Grade
- Commercial Grade with Certification (RoHS)
- Specification Grade with Certification
NOTE: Both types of our Tin Plating are Food Grade and RoHS compliant coatings.
