VP Finish’s Electroless Nickel Plating is an engineering coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance, adds hardness and improves wear-resistance due to its inherent lubricity. In addition, this coating’s deposit is very uniform and covers well in deeper recesses. It is an autocatalytic chemical process (requiring no electricity), which deposits a layer of nickel phosphorus on many metal substrates. However, even though these coatings meet various engineering finish requirements, our bright and semi-bright Electroless Nickel Plating processes provide finishes that are both durable and attractive.

Types
- Medium Phosphorus
- High Phosphorus
- Teflon Impregnated
The percentage of phosphorus in the coating dictates the type and characteristics of the coating. Both our Medium and High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating processes offer great corrosion protection. Our Medium Phosphorus Electroless Nickel, by far the most common type requested, meets a vast array of customer needs while our High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel is used when superior corrosion resistance is an absolute necessity.
By adding Teflon Impregnation to our Electroless Nickel Plating, superior lubricity is achieved for metal on metal applications.
Substrates
The following are just some of the machined part substrates we can successfully deposit Electroless Nickel Plating on:
